Museograph recently completed design work on the restoration of the Cadbury Fry Hudson building on Cumberland Street. We worked with artist Louisa Bailley and Seddons GRC to return the lost details to the facade. It will be one of the only period buildings left on the site after the hospital rebuild but looks good for another century.

Museuograph has been working closely with the DCC Business Information Services to create their new Innovation Lab. The DCC wanted a space that was new, flexible, fresh and innovative for their staff to collaborate and work in. Other items to consider, was the use of technology such as 3D printers and computers. Michael (Designer), came up with graphics with images from the DCC Archives for the walls, along with brightly coloured rugs to add more colour and vibrance to the room. This is going to be a fabulous space for the DCC to learn, collaborate and create in.

It’s install time at the Cromwell Museum after driving all the way from Dunedin with over 100 panels, tools, passion and a lot of elbow grease. After long deliberations, deep discussions the panels are laid out and placed carefully in their correct order making sure everything is in the perfect place for the visitor. Jonny begins painstakingly mounting each panel with extreme precision, while Mark plays with the tools and looks like he’s doing heaps of work. Actually Mark is doing heaps, I just managed to capture him when he’s off guard. Michael is hard at thought making sure every detail is in it’s correct place, just like the We Drove Here pioneer’s of old. Me...I’m typing this up. One day to go before opening...

NELSON CENTRE OF MUSICAL ARTS]]>Michael Finlayhttps://www.museograph.co.nz/single-post/2018/01/31/NELSON-CENTRE-OF-MUSICAL-ARTShttps://www.museograph.co.nz/single-post/2018/01/31/NELSON-CENTRE-OF-MUSICAL-ARTSWed, 31 Jan 2018 22:25:00 +0000
Museograph, working with Dunedin sculptors Louisa Bailey, Tony McManus and Seddons GRC Solutions, recently completed
restoration work on the Nelson Centre of Musical Arts building. As with many buildings of its period it had been modified for earthquake resistance and its ornate parapets shaved off in the 1980s. We worked with conservation architect Ian Bowman to reconstruct the missing elements and the results are stunning. We particularly enjoyed working on the central mask over the main door so look up next time you are in Nelson.
